BAYOU GEORGE — Bay County has a brand-new solar-powered building, featuring nearly 10,944 square feet of storage space for emergency supplies.
County employees showed off the new logistics warehouse earlier this week, which sits off John Pitts Road near the Bay Dunes Golf Course. The solar panels are already powering the warehouse, running its lights and air conditioning units. The building has 168 panels that generate 38,800 watts (38.8 kilowatts), but consumes only 6,000-7,500 watts — which means a surplus.
